About education
How do the lessons work?
Live lessons online
The teacher meets with preschoolers via “Microsoft Teams” once a week (on weekend mornings or evenings), with each lesson lasting 30 minutes. Up to 6 children take part in each class, allowing the teacher to build a connection with every one of them.
Engaging, interactive teaching
We teach without textbooks or workbooks, drawing on a program specially developed by professional teachers. Lessons are interactive and adapted to a remote format. Three times a year, students take part in special sessions with popular Lithuanian writers, creators, and folk artists.
Live gatherings – for a stronger bond
Before Christmas and in the summer, we invite everyone to meet in person, in Lithuania. It’s a great opportunity to strengthen the friendships that began during lessons.
Progress
How progress is assessed
Once a month you receive a comment from the teacher about your child’s individual progress.
2× per year – student progress review with the teacher
10 months – the length of the academic year

I have always admired Austėja Landsbergienė’s school and wanted my son to study in Lithuanian as well, to improve his language skills and maintain a connection with Lithuania.
At the same time, it provides additional practice that helps with writing and reading skills, as well as meaningful time spent.

This school is “drastically” different — in the best way — compared to standard schools in Lithuania; it is a major step forward, so I encourage you to keep going.

We are very pleased with the teacher’s professionalism, empathy, ability to engage, and to maintain a connection with our six-year-old, even with contact only through a screen. We are also happy with the organization’s communication — its speed, professionalism, and flexibility.
The lessons are thoughtfully planned down to the last detail, with a clear structure and sufficient intensity to truly learn something.

The history lessons with Simona were also incredibly interesting, presented from a different, more child-friendly perspective — I would even listen in myself because I found them fascinating too. I loved how the teacher encouraged discussions, let the children imagine themselves as kings, and think about “what if” scenarios. Of course, the knowledge quizzes using the “Kahoot” platform were always a big hit with the children.
We are very grateful to teachers Kristina and Živilė, who, being sensitive to a more reserved child, were able to sense and understand him, allowing him to open up gradually without rushing him. He became more confident and started believing in himself more. We truly appreciate this. Thanks to them, our son now knows Lithuanian history the best among our children and writes nasal vowels correctly!

Interesting and fun activities, systematic grammar instruction. Book presentations, meetings with authors, and overall very engaging lessons. Both of our children still make quite a few mistakes when writing, but I hope they will gradually improve.
The history and geography lessons are very interesting. It’s not easy to keep children’s attention during virtual classes, but you do it excellently — the children enjoy learning, doing the activities, and listening to the teachers.

First of all, I want to direct all my praise and highest compliments to the Lithuanian language teacher Kotryna, whose clear and firm guidance made the remote lessons truly exceptional. It was a perfect example of how even remotely it is possible to manage a class of teenagers — to engage them, assign creative tasks, allow the students themselves to evaluate them, and encourage them to read in Lithuanian. I was amazed each time at how much could be achieved during a 90-minute focused and compelling lesson.
The meetings with authors Tomas Dirgėla and Kotryna Zylė also brought a very warm and lively touch to the lessons. The children were bursting with excitement at the chance to interact with the authors of the books they had read — all while living in Vienna.
When living abroad, it is very easy to forget your language and proper writing. Maintaining that has been very important to our family. However, trying to teach four children of different ages ourselves became too difficult, so we were very happy to have found this Lithuanian Education program.

My child learned a great deal in a relatively short period of time, which significantly contributed to his good academic performance at the local school.

Our school welcomes children aged 4 to 16; preschool education is for children up to age 6. We discuss each child’s knowledge level and readiness to take part individually, and assign them to a class according to their age and language level.
The teacher meets with preschoolers (ages 4–6) in remote lessons once a week (on weekend mornings or evenings), with each lesson lasting 30 minutes. Up to 6 children take part in each class, allowing the teacher to build a connection with every one of them.
Lessons are designed according to a specially developed and continuously refined program for nurturing Lithuanian identity and language, and learning happens through engaging activities prepared by professional teachers and tailored for children.
The program is designed for children who already have at least some basic Lithuanian. A child who speaks no Lithuanian at all wouldn’t yet be able to fully take part in lessons.
We invite you to an individual consultation – we’ll discuss your child’s Lithuanian language level and advise on how best to prepare for Lithuanian Language and Culture Education at “Karalienės Mortos mokykla”.
We ask parents to ensure that their child has all the information-technology equipment needed for remote learning (a computer with headphones, a microphone, a video camera, and a document printer) and an internet connection of sufficient speed (at least 30 Mb/s). The school provides every student with access to the “Microsoft” learning environment.
If you’re interested in Lithuanian Language and Culture Education, fill out the registration form. We’ll get in touch with your family and invite you to an individual consultation – we’ll discuss your expectations and your child’s language level, and answer any questions you have. If you decide to attend “Karalienės Mortos mokykla”, we’ll invite you to sign an enrollment agreement.
If two or more siblings join the Lithuanian Language and Culture Education program, discounts apply: 10% off for the second child, and 15% off for the third and each additional child.
Your child will have plenty of time later to forget Lithuanian
Make sure they build strong language foundations while they’re still in school.
